Gradient Wireframe Node for Blender

$0+
2 ratings

This tool adds a node with various options for wireframe visualization in Blender. You can adjust various settings to get different effects.

Built using Blender 3.1, but should work with any version 3.0+. It's compatible with both Eevee and Cycles, but will only render the triangulated mesh, due to limitations of the wireframe node.

You can open the blend file directly to see it in use, or append it to your own blend files (see Usage below).

Any donations made are always appreciated.

Usage:

  1. Download Razgriz_GradientWireframeNode.blend.
  2. In your Blender file, navigate to File -> Append. Navigate to where you downloaded the file, and double click on it.
  3. Navigate to the NodeTree folder in the file, and click on GradientWireframe. On the right side, select "Fake User", which will keep the node group around even when not in immediate use.
  4. Add the GradientWireframe node group to your material by navigating to Add -> Group -> GradientWireframe, or by pressing Shift+A and typing "GradientWireframe" to select the node.
  5. Insert the node before your final material output.

Options

  • Start Color: The color of the wireframe at the start of the gradient.
  • End Color: The color of the wireframe at the end of the gradient.
  • Emission Strength: The strength of the wireframe emission.
  • Wireframe Alpha: Overall Opacity of the wireframe.
  • Gradient Hueshift: How much to hue shift across the gradient. Set both Start Color and End Color to the same value with this at 1 for a rainbow gradient.
  • Gradient Density: How dense the gradient is, or how often it should repeat.
  • Gradient Saturation: Saturation of the gradient color.
  • Gradient Rotation (x/y/z): Defines the direction of the gradient.
  • Fade Strength: How much to fade the wireframe on the faded side.
  • Fade Center: Centerpoint of the fade effect.
  • Fade Length: How much to vary the fade away around the center point.
  • Fade Rotation (x/y/z): Defines the direction of the fade.
